    I love prologues, especially unique ones. I think it’s sweet how the authors dedicated the book to whatever they love; often friends and family, but other times to their readers and characters. For example, the newest PJO series, the first book dedicated it to Walker, Arya, and Leah the actors that portrayed the character on screen which is super sweet.

    I’ve never seen the discourse you mentioned; I felt like I’ve seen more discourse about “appropriate” prologue. Every few months or so, there will be some prologues that popped up on my feed about being dedicated to a very popular fictional ship (usually if it’s a fanfic based book) or even something like “be a good girl” or “make you scream” kind of prologue (usually romantasy). Idk why this keeps popping up, even though I don’t even read these books 🫠
